I'm an admin on a company manager project that we're setting up. When I create an Epic I get a message that 'Changes are saved, but issue [issue XYZ] isn't visible. For issue to be visible, it must match your project and filters, and have a status that’s assigned to the board.
I've checked the issue type is assigned to the project, the filters and that statuses are mapped correctly but I'm still getting an issue.
What's the reason your Board filter is looking for essentially all Issue Types?
I'd try removing that part of the JQL as a first step as it shouldn't be necessary - but not sure it would be blocking the Epics.
Do they show up in an Issue Search when using that filter?
Ste
Yes the epics come up in an issue search when using the filter

I've changed to filter to just "project = PARTNERON ORDER BY Rank ASC" and I'm still getting the error message. I've included a screenshot of the error message I get and the ticket. The 'to do' status is mapped to my backlog in the kanban board, but that is showing as empty when I view it. The same happens if I move the epic to either of the other two statuses

I cannot see anything wrong, but it's hard to tell without access to the site. Try the official Atlassian Support . You can give them access and they can investigate further.

Thanks Rebekka - it was a sub-filter issue that has now been resolved, the official Atlassian Support were able to help so thank you for your pointer

Hi @Martin Whitehair and welcome to the Community,
You filter filters for "Standard Issue Types" and "Subtask Issue types". Per Default, an "Epic" is neither.
You can check that under Administration > Issues > Issue type hierarchy.
Assuming you've not changed the default configuration, your board won't show any Epics, as they aren't standard nor Subtask. You'll have to remove the and-clause (type in xxx).

I haven't changed the issue type hierarchy, this is what shows for that (see image). I've remove the and-clause and that still doesn't show the epics on the board.

Do you have the Epic Panel activated? You find that option under Board Settings > columns.
However, despite that config, it shouldn't give you the error message.
Certainly odd. I'd try the official Atlassian Support you can give them access to your instance for the support case and they can investigate further.
