When I change the status of issue, it auto changes the assignee.
This is really bugging me. Is there a way to stop this from happening?

Welcome to the community.
Can you check if there’s an automation in place that’s doing this. Similarly, if your project is using a custom workflow, perhaps someone created a post function that automatically assigns a user/role once the issue lands on the particular status in question (within your workflow).

Thanks for the response! It was in the automation settings of the project page. I had to turn it off manually!
