What’s the best way to handle add-on compatibility during a server to cloud migration in Jira?

We’re preparing to migrate from Jira Server to Jira Cloud and are concerned about marketplace apps and their compatibility. Some add-ons seem to have limited cloud functionality compared to the server. How do teams usually approach this—do you replace them with alternatives, or is there a recommended process for mapping server apps to cloud versions? Any best practices or tools that can help with this transition would be really useful.

Regarding Marketplace Apps yes not all of the DC ones have a cloud version as well.

It is our job as admins to find alternatives if no Marketplace App is available.

My best recommendation will be to read through the marketplace apps in Cloud to make sure what functionalities exist in both and what you will lose or which feature are introduced in Cloud.

Once you do your analysis then make the decision that will work for your company.

Analysis should be the very first step.
