What might be the reason I am not getting updates on the Issues I am watching ?? (non-admin user)

When I click on Start Watching Issue option, my name shows in the list but under Notification section for Watching nothing comes up even when there are some updates in the tasks/issues. Same with the Issues I have reported.

Hello, 

If you are Jira administrator, then use the Notification Helper (Jira settings -> System -> Notification helper). If you are not Jira admin, please, ask your Jira admin.
