Hi Everyone,
I'm part of 'Product' team in my company. My team has a Jira board for all products we're responsible for.
I was wondering what is the most recommended Jira issue type for product research, user research, requirement gathering and/or data analysis before presenting the work to engineering team for new development and/or enhancements?

Thanks!

Hi @Deepak Gupta

Issue type itself is not sufficient. It is how that issue type is configured with other Jira configuration that matters.

These in my opinion could be a template in Confluence instead of an Issue type.

  • Product research
  • User research
  • Requirement gathering
  • Data analysis

Most of these are brainstorming activities where multiple stakeholders will contribute, so that is typical usage of Confluence. They can collaborate on ideas, comment, and have discussion.

Jira issue will be the outcome of these activities and that could be Epic, Stories, Tasks or your own custom Issue Types.

I hope it helped :)

Ravi
