The current project is to replace one system with another, we are in the execution phase of the project. What information do I need in advance to feed JIRA and that the tool is functional? With that I start first.

Hi @Nancy Arlette Aguilar Resendiz

Welcome to the Atlassian Community.

If you are not familiar with Jira, the first thing I would look at is the getting started guide. You mentioned that you are replacing an existing system, so I would start with looking at your existing process/workflow and see if there is anything that should change. I would also recommend looking at the current fields you are using and see if you have unused ones that does not need to migrate over, and also if you have some that are rarely used and decide what to do with them.

Once you decided on that you can create the same workflow and fields in Jira, and then export some or all issues from the existing system into Jira.

Hello Mikael.

I appreciate your respond. In fact, my context is regarding  with the General Objective Project which is replace our current Sales System for a new one. Is not regarding to replace similar Software as Jira. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

What I wanted to understand is which preparation do I need to do in terms of Project, in order to Use Jira correctly.

Okay, so I would start at looking at the tutorials that you can find in the Jira documentations, like the one above and also Getting started as a project administrator. The latter one will walk you through how to setup the project and configure different things within the project. I would recommend using the default project templates as a starting point and keep it simple, you can always change the project to make it more custom later if needed.
