What is a Repeating editor?

Hi,

when creating a project we have some default project roles that are always added to the projects.

I just can't figure out what the project role "Repeating editors" does? What can a person do with this Project Role?

I am wondering about two things:

1) This project Role does not appear on our Permission Scheme - so I think its doing nothing?

2) Right now the user group jira-users is automatically added to all the projects with the Project-role "Repeating editor" so ... it seems that all users can somehow edit something?
But what exactly does it do?

can you help me?

Thanks in advance

Hi Philipp,

I am not familiar with this specific role name.  In my own Jira site, none of my projects have a role called that.   However I did some research on the topic and I came across this page:

https://codedoers.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/SUPPORT/pages/155484161/Managing+permissions

It seems that there is a plugin called Repeating Issues, and if you have that plugin in Jira, then it seems it will automatically create this role in projects so that this plugin can add some extended functionality.

I am not well versed in the support of that plugin, so it might be better to try to reach out to that vendor if you need assistance in regards to the functions of that plugin.  I found a link to their service desk in https://codedoers.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portal/1

Regards,

Andy
