What happens when users are deleted from AD and an user is referenced in JIRA comments?

I'm running into some issues with a DC to cloud migration.  JCMA is complaining that there are users that are not defined in the system.  It appears that users in question are not in the internal JIRA directory and were at one point a part of the connected AD.

Question 1:  Are users automatically added to JIRA internal directory when AD is hooked up?  I'm assuming they're added to the cwd_users table?

Question 2: Is there a way to tell JCMA to just forget about these old users and keep them marked like this is the comments: [~JoeSchmoe] ?  Is there some Dark Feature I can enable for JCMA to just ignore this?  Right now, the only way to get past this error is to manually create users .... and it's very time consuming

Hello @tomgross_com

Question 1: Users are not automatically added to the Internal directory when AD is hooked up. Users should exist in only one User Directory. If you have an integration with AD, the users don't need to exist in the Internal directory and Jira will not make a copy of them there.

Question 2: Have your admins opened a support ticket directly with Atlassian to get Cloud Migration Managers to support your migration effort. They can tell you about the current dark features and the correct way to use them.
