What field is used for "estimated" work by the Release Burndown report?

I am trying to use the Release Burndown chart in a Confluence page, but no matter what I edit about the issues I'm trying to see, I always get the result "This chart cannot be displayed" because "There are no estimated issues in this version".

I've tagged the epics with a Release Version. Pretty sure I tagged the actual child issues with the Release Version as well.

For estimate, I tried various fields (some may be custom fields) with "estimate" and "story points" in the names. Idk what I'm missing here...

These types of Reports in Jira (burnups, burndowns, sprint, version, etc) rely on:

  • Board configuration (Board Settings > Estimation), and
  • Data in specific built-in fields (Remaining estimate, Story points, etc.)

You can look up your Custom Fields in "Jira > Admin > Issues > Custom Fields". Any custom fields you have will not influence these built-in reports. Only the built-in fields provide data to these.

So be sure you've got data in the appropriate fields, and that the board is configured to align with that data.

I'm also curious if the reports in Jira (rather than via macros in Confluence) work as you expect?
