I copied a workflow and changed its name.  I tried to add it to a workflow scheme, but I have to associate it with an issue type, and I need first to create a new issue type for it.

Hey Phil,

There's two steps here:

Create or edit a workflow scheme, admin -> workflow schemes will give you a list of them all and when you create or edit them, you'll get a list of "this issue type uses that workflow" (which is, of course, editable)

Associate the workflow scheme with the project, from the project settings

Thanks,.  I was going to delete my post, because I found Add Issue Type, but only in Actions > Edit Issue Types.  That was not in Atlassian Support's post.  I'm proceeding along this path until I get stuck or succeed.  Please stand by...

I believe I succeeded.  Here are the labyrinthian steps I took, if I remembered correctly:

  1. Copy a workflow.
  2. Rename it.
  3. Project Settings > Issues > Issue Types > Actions > Edit Issue Types > Add Issue Type > Drag from right to left.
  4. (As I recall) Project Settings > Workflows > Add Workflow > Existing > Add the workflow.
  5. Workflow Schemes > Chrome find > Dev Story > Select the workflow scheme that contains Dev Story > Select the workflow scheme > click Publish > Click Associate (for screen with the just-in-case status destinations) > Click Acknowledge.
  6. Click the new workflow > Publish Draft.

I actually don't know how or when I did it, but I managed to replace the original workflow with my copy.  Now, I'm stuck with the workflow name [workflow name] 2.  For now, I'll keep the name, rather than make a copy and go through the whole labyrinth again.
