We would like to lock down Epics and their linked issues to the particular group.

hanumanthu.e September 8, 2023

We have created a group with the list of users and update the ticket with issue security group. Now we are able to lock the Epics and their linked issues manually by using security level key. We should make it automatically. By using automation, I am able to lock all the linked issues of an epic if it's already linked to an epic based on security level key. Now I am unable to lock automatically newly linked issues to an epic. Can anyone help me out from this issue.

Hi @hanumanthu.e ,

welcome to the community!

You would need to create a separate rule for this, with a different trigger.

The trigger would (best) have to be "Field value changed" -> Parent link, for any operation (so that the value can change when creating a issue under an epic, or when you link an already created issue to an epic).

Then, just use an edit action to edit the issue security field and copy it from the epic.

Hope this helps!

Hi @Tessa Tuteleers

Can you please create a rule and share it in this comment section. I am not getting your point actually. It could be great if you share the Automation rule.

Thanks,

Hanumanthu.
