The Feature doesn't display when I click on "Open issues". It does show in the backlog and "All Issues". Why isn't it considered an open issue? Is it because it's a Feature, not an actual Issue?

Hello @TJ

Welcome to Atlassian Community!

Could you please provide us a screenshot displaying what is the "Open Issues" view that you are talking about?

I ask you this information because there is no default filter or functionality with that name in Jira Scrum boards, so I believe it must be a quick filter or something else that was customized/added on your board.

based on the details you provided so far, I believe you must be facing one of the Scenarios below:

1 - The "Open Issues" view is a quick filter that is not returning the feature you created. To check the details of that filter and why it is not returning, you must click in ... > board Settings > Quick filters.

Once you access the filter, check the parameters of the JQL that might be removing the issue from the view in your issue navigator page, by basically removing one by one until the feature starts appearing.

P.S: It is possible that the resolution field is wrongly set in a status that is not the final of the feature's workflow, causing open issues to be returned as closed in most of the filters. You can check more details about this behavior in the link below:

Best practices on using the "Resolution" field

2 - It is possible that the whole board filter is not returning the feature you created. In that case, I recommend you the same steps of step 1 but in the whole board filter that is displayed under Board settings > General > Edit filter query.

3 - It is possible that your board columns are not configured with the status of your feature issue type. You can check this possibility and properly add the missing statuses under Board settings > columns, checking if there are any unmapped statuses in the respective column.

Let us know if this information helps.
