Hello everyone,
I have a timeline in which we can see our projects with its impacts and phases. The structure is the follwoing one.
So, the result is the below one, I do have a clear picture of time line of the project and its phases (in blue colour).
However, because of I don't want to see the impacts in the timeline, when I apply a filter "issue type = Demand and Phase", the previous structure is broken, I mean, I see all the tickets together, not below its parent (project) and ordered by ticket number:
So I can't see the impacts, that it's fine, however I can't not see the phases below its project as you can see in this previous picture.
My question is, is there any way to see only the Projects with its phases?, the same we have in the first picture but without the impacts (ticket in red colour).
Thank you so much in advance.
Regards - Javier
Hi @Javier Laya
This is native behaviour, surprisingly enough.
This help page states...
Subtasks when a filter is applied
When filtering items in the list, calendar, or timeline view, you will still see the subtasks along with the other issue types if they match your filter. However, subtasks will not appear below their respective parent task when the filter is applied.

So there's not really an option for this at present in Jira Work Management!
The alternative would be to use a Software Project, and visualise the right levels in an Advanced Roadmaps Plan instead.

Hi @Ste Wright ,
Thank you so much for the explanation.
One question regarding "Software Project", Is it included in JIRA?, I mean, is there a Project in JIRA in order to manage better what I want?.
Thanks!.

Hi @Javier Laya
Assuming you have Jira Software - Software Project Type should be available.
You'll need a Company-managed Project - so to create this, you'll need to be a Jira Admin - and then...
I'd recommend using Advanced Roadmaps to visualise the roadmap (to allow for you to have Sub-tasks shown in the hierarchy).
Advanced Roadmaps is a Jira Premium feature :)
Alternatively, you could...
...and use the Basic Roadmap functionality within the Software Project (also explained on the linked page above)

Hi @Ste Wright,
I'll try using Software Project Type and get back to you.
Thank you so much for the information, it's really helpful.
