View hours logged instantly

Please let me know if there is a way to view hours logged instantly by the users, like:

User - Issue Key - Issue Summary - Date/Time Start - Time Spent

User A - PRJ-01 - Task 1 - dd/mm/yy hh:mm - 3h:23m

User B - PRJ-02 - Task 2 - dd/mm/yy hh:mm - 1h:13m

The purpose is to view who is actively working and logging hours in an issue using the Tempo Timesheet plugin where the user can hit play/stop.

We (WorklogPRO) have a dashboard gadget exactly for that purpose but I don't know Tempo. They may also have a similar dashboard gadget.

Hi @andre_peixoto , if your goal is to check whether people are logging hours against issues, you should be able to achieve this with a JQL that matches your criteria i.e., projects, versions, etc., and configuring the columns of your search results to display the info you want - time spent will be a total spent on the ticket though. You can also find a more detailed view through the Time Tracking Report.

Now, looking back to your table, assuming you want to see a report of the time spent per user, you would need to export your JQL or an add-on - once it is not supported out of the box.

You will find lots of discussions here at the community about this topic including add-ons recommendations that give you a more robust timesheet report. Not sure if you had a chance to explore that but I encourage you to use the search box.

I hope that helps and give you some insights.

Cheers,
IL.

Hi Ivan,

This is a specific need using Tempo Timesheets plugin where the user hits play to start logging hours in a sub-task.

Using JQL I'm only able to see the logged hours when the user clicks stop.

Instead of reaching each one of the team to check which issue users are working on, the idea is to easily check who is logging hours in what issue at the moment.

Any ideas?

Well, to my knowledge, I don't believe there is an easy way to access ongoing clock data from the tracker in Tempo and generate a report per user on top of that. Indeed, it's a cool feature. I'm interested in hearing from others what they have experienced with this.

However, it doesn't look like that carving "live" timesheet data is the best way to find out the issues that users are working at the moment. If any combination of board/dashboard/JQL with assignee and status in progress doesn't address your requirement, most likely work logs won't meet it either.

Perhaps, as a suggestion, you can start a discussion to explore how people are designing their workflows and configurations to address the requirement of bringing visibility to issues that teams are currently working on.
