Versioning Requirements in Jira

Any examples or suggestions on how to version requirements within Jira

Example

I have a "User Story A" in the 1.0 Release but I need to make an enhancement change to this user story in release 1.1. My initial thoughts are to clone and make changes, but didnt know if there was any better ways version with out changing the requirement itself. Essentially its a new requirement.

Are you looking for a solution with native Jira, or would you be open to add-ons? If the latter, there are some add-ons in the Atlassian Marketplace to help with version control and requirement management, e.g.:
