I am using Kaban next-gen projects for Jira Software. Its perfect for multiple members of our software team to plan, track and release software. I would also like to track hours worked on each software release, right down to task detail / action item / issue; I would then like to aggregate hours worked for client billing purposes either periodically or on each release. Is there a way to acheive this via Jira Software?
This can be easily achieved by using one of the apps from the marketplace: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/search?query=Worklogs

Thanks for the prompt response John. I have added Time tracking via settings and see how users can enter work done on their respective "issues". Perfect. But how do I now see an aggregated view of work done across all projects for billing purposes? Sean.

We use an add-on called Time Sheets or Time Reports, something like that. I am replying from my phone so I don’t have the name in front of me.
But you can use a filter with your Dashboard gadget that includes all projects.
