Please help me.
I’m currently using the jira software by migrating from server to cloud.
I’m re-inviting 1 user to jira cloud. (user status : inactive ▶ invitation pending)
But user forgot the password.
Also, the user’s id is the email of the retired domain. (Can’t send mail to find user’s password.)
The password reset menu is disable.
I tried to invite a new user, but i get an error message.
The current situation,,,
What should i do? Please help me.
Hi,
Sorry to hear about this problem. I understand that you are trying to activate this user by inviting them again, and you are unable to reset their password.
It sounds like this user no longer has access to the email address in question. Is that correct? If so then it would explain the behavior you see here so far. Most likely our invite system has tried to send that email address an invite link they are expected to be able to click on to confirm that this account is owned by the person that you expect here.
Ultimately that user is going to have to access to that email address to be able to complete this account activation. I would recommend reaching out to your email administrator to see if this user can even temporarily gain access to that address, or have messages sent to that address redirected to their current email inbox. This could help to correct the process here. As an admin you could then resend the invite to that user, as in the screenshot here:
Alternatively you could try to remove the user here. You could then generate a URL invite links instead of trying to send them an email invite directly. You could then try to share that URL with that user directly. Perhaps that might help here. However I am not expecting that they will be able to complete the signup process if they don't actually have access to an email address.
Is there something special about the email address you are trying to invite here? If the user has another email address, is there some reason you don't want to invite that address here?
Please let us know.
Andy
