User group assignement

In step 5 of the migration Jira process, confirm if the import to cloud assigns existing user to same groups with privileges??

Hi Patrick,

Welcome to Atlassian Community!
The import process adds the users and the groups to the Cloud instance and during the process the users are also added to the same groups they were on Server.
The only difference is that the groups that gives admin privileges, for example, is different, but this can be changed after the import.
The default groups that gives access to the products, like jira-software-users, jira-servicedesk-users are the same, so once the import is completed and you confirm that those groups will be the default, all users will automatically be counted as licensed and have the same privilegies as before.
