Use of property jira.permission.work.denied = denied results in not being able to view worklogs

I am using the jira.permission.work.denied = denied property on a workflow status to prevent logging on the issue when it reaches the status of 'Done'. The result is that users are indeed not able to log on the issue with the given status, but also results in being not able to view the work logs of the issue in the issue work log tab anymore.

The reason this is important for us is because the logs are useful for evaluation purposes.

Is it possible to restrict logging on the issue status of 'Done' but still give user the possibility to view the history of work logs?

Steps I tried to solve this

  • Set jira.permission.worklogeditall.denied with value denied, which didn't solve the problem;

Jira version

  • 8.11.0#811001

Contacted Atlassian support and the issue is solved by setting the user / group rights in a better way.

Hi @Swasti Agarwal, unfortunately the request seems to be deleted somehow, but the solution was to give some user groups permission to write logs which seemed to be incorrectly set. I'll try to find the exact answer from Atlassian in my mailbox. Hope I can still find it there.

Hi @Rob Huijben , thank you for getting back!

I found the solution, however, thank you again for your promptness.

Hi,

I added the status properties jira.permission.worklogeditown.denied and jira.permission.worklogeditall.denied and it worked.

Best,

Swasti
