I have an Epic that has 10 tasks that are sequentially blocked by the previous task. If I assign a Start date to my epic and each task has a Time Estimate for completion can automation assign the Due date to the tasks.
I am planning on using this Epic as a template for repeatable projects that always have the same tasks and times and will be cloning the template. So for each new Epic Clone I will assign a Start Date and then expect that automation will assign the child Due Date.
Hello @Kathleen Hamilton
How do you identify the first task in the sequence of child tasks?
How are you planning to trigger the rule to set the dates?
That is something i did not think about on how to identify the first task in the sequence. But yes I was going to trigger a rule to set the dates. Any suggestions on how to identify the 1st task?

How are you going to trigger your rule, exactly?
Are you going to use a manual trigger? A scheduled trigger? Some other type of trigger?
Also, how are you going to use the Epic and its tasks as a template? How are you going to copy them?
Regarding identifying the first task in the sequence, you need to make something about that task unique. You might put a keyword into the Summary that is not used in any other summaries for tasks in the set. You might use a custom field with a value.
