Uploading Excel file to Confluence for file retention

Our Team is looking to use Confluence more for our record and file retention so we have a single source and not split between sharepoint/MS Teams and Confluence.  We are trying to upload an excel file.  I have been able to upload the file and have it stored in Confluence.  But we would like to be able to open the file from confluence without having to download the file, update the necessary information, save and close the file.  Is this possible?  I believe that we will have to:  Download the saved file from Confluence,  Update the necessary information to the excel file and save to our desktop,  Upload the file to Confluence and then delete the old version that was originally downloaded.

Thanks
Jason

There is a app called Companion, developed by Atlassian, which does what you look for!

Thank you for the reply Aron.  I will look to download the Companion app to my desktop.

Oh, one more option to consider is the GoEdit app.

I remember it has been existing before Atlassian rolled out Companion. If the Atlassian solution is imperfect to your needs, give this a try, too.

Hi @Jason D,

We can also suggest trying our app – Table Filter and Charts for Confluence.
Our Table Spreadsheet macro allows you to import your existing Excel file in .xlsx and .csv formats and work with it right in Confluence.

The macro supports all the basic Excel functions: cell formulas, filtration, dropdowns, conditional formatting, pivot tables, charts, etc.

The collaborative editing feature is also supported, and you’ll be able to edit your spreadsheet both from the page view and page edit mode.
