For upgrading JIRA from 6.1.5 to 7.3.1 & migrating data (projects / workflows / issues ...) we need to:

  • stage 1: upgrade from 6.1.5 to 7.0
  • stage 2: upgrade from 7.0 to 7.3.1 ?

or we need also to pass trough some other intermediate versions such as 6.2 / 6.3 ?

Thank you!

6.3 to 7.1 is the largest jump I'd make inside your area, and that can be painful.

I'd strongly recommend an upgrade to 6.4.latest.  This will minimise the issues you have going from 6.4 to 7.0, and I would test a 6.4 to 7.3 direct upgrade - it has worked for me recently (if you have problems, then fall back to 6.4 to 7.0 or 7.1 - the upgrades from 7.0 to 7.3 are relatively painless)

Do you have any reference guides or help, we need to upgrade from 6.3 to something supported.
