Upgrade Jira 3.13.5 Enterprise to 7.xx

Hey,
I try to upgrade old jira for exporting data from there I got a SQL dump only :( not a running instance, anyone have some idea how to do it ?? I already try to contact support by they are useless and replay me 3 times with wrong license number after a couple days.

Ok, well, you're going to live in "interesting times" for a while.

Broadly speaking, you are going to have to

  • Find an install of 3.13.5 Enterprise
  • Install it and get it working with an empty database
  • Restore the SQL dump
  • Point the Jira at it and start it up, re-indexing immediately after startup
  • Export to xml
  • Commission a 4.0 system and import the xml
  • And then step through upgrades to 4.4, 5.1, 6.0, 6.4, 7.0 and 7.what-you-want-to-end-up-on.

You might be able to point a 4.0 at your database after restoring it and let it upgrade, but don't bet on it.  I would be tempted to try that first though, as it means you don't have to find a 3.15 to install, or get Atlassian to generate a 3.x format key (a licence key for 7 will work all the way back to 4.0)

When you say "dump" - what is that?  Database or xml?
