Hello! I am trying to automatically update tasks' due dates based on their priority when they are reopened (moved from 'done' or 'won't do' to 'to do' status) using Jira automation rules. I already have a rule for new tasks that calculates their due dates when the issue is created and the 'Reopen date' field is empty, based on the creation date. Now, I set the custom field 'Reopen date' value when the task is transitioned automatically and perform data re-fetching after that. I also created a rule to change the due date when the 'Reopen date' is added. However, it doesn't work; it seems that the value set automatically is not considered as a trigger.

How can I solve this and recalculate the due date based on the reopen date when it is just automatically set?

Thanks in advance.

@Maria Saptsova ,

Without trying to fully understand the use case yet, the most obvious/occurring cause of your issue would be in checking a certain checkbox in your automation rule.

Can you check if this is the case? Only if this checkbox is checked, an automation rule will perform an action if the trigger was by another automation rule 😊
