Update project category when permission scheme changes?

In order to see a list of all current projects, I added a Project Category called "Current Projects". 

When I close out a project, I will archive the project with the permissions scheme so it's no longer an active board. 

However, without manually removing the project category, I am still left with a "Current Project" tag on an archived project.

Does anyone know of a way to trigger a category name change at the permission scheme level?

OR a better way to do the above?
