Hi -
I have taken over admin of Jira and I have a project team wanting to update their existing workflow that was built before my time. We've made the changes to a test instance of Jira, but there are a couple things that they want to work like they did before.
One of these is when all subtasks are closed, the Update Parent Issue screen pops up and if they choose ok, then a secondary resolve issue screen pops up.
It looks like this Update Parent Issue screen is automatically triggered, but I can't find where it is triggering the Resolve Issue screen. I see the Resolve Issue screen is set to pop-up upon transition to Closed.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I think you are missing a "resolve issue" screen on the transition for the parent issue that is triggered when all the subtasks are complete. It's probably got "set resolution to fixed" as a post-function on it instead of using a transition screen.

Thank you for taking time to respond. I went thru each transition of the workflow again (and again) - there is only one transition that has the resolve issue screen and it's steps away from the Close status.
It's happening in Production (on the old workflow), but I can't find how it's happening. I've checked every transition in the workflow for post functions and there are none around transition parent after all sub tasks are closed. The transition into Closed status it doesn't have the resolve issue screen.
I'm wondering if there was a way to do these things before updates happened to the product and add-ons?

I am not sure where it is coming from either then. If the transition being triggered by "last closed subtask" is giving you a resolution screen from the parent, then I would expect that screen to be the one defined on the parent's transition.
Maybe a screenshot of the setup of "close parent on transition" setting here might help?

Here is the workflow:
This is the only transition with the resolve issue screen
This is the close issue transition and all of the options
Here is where I'd expect to see a post function to transition the parent issue, but I've looked thru the entire workflow and I can't find a single post function that appears to do anything like that.

I am stuck then, I can't see where the screen is coming from.

Me too! I thought maybe there was a "super secret" place for changing the Parent Update Issue screen/process.
I finally took the original workflow and made the updates requested without breaking any of the existing transitions and it's working as requested.
Seriously weird situation.
