I'm trying to change the email address of my Atlassian account. After I click the verification link sent to my new email, I'm redirected to the verification page, but it shows the following error:

"Something went wrong while executing your request. We're working on it, please try again shortly."

I have tried:

  • Using the latest verification email.
  • Opening the link in an incognito/private browser.
  • Trying different browsers.

The issue still persists.

Could you please help me verify my new email address or investigate this issue?

Thank you.

Hi @Gonny

Welcome to the Atlassian community!

I would first log out completely from id.atlassian.com (not just use incognito), then click the verification link again in a fresh browser session. Incognito removes cached pages, but the account session itself can still be stuck, and that's often what triggers this generic error.

Do you have the new email address already tied to another Atlassian account, even an old test or trial account? Atlassian IDs won't let you verify an email that's already registered elsewhere, and this specific error message could also be a symptom of that conflict.

Cheers, Martin
