Unable to select the multiselect custom field - keeps unselecting when I click somewhere outside

Hi all-

Need some assistance on my issues, I have a jira server version on 8.2.1 and a custom field for multiselect isn't allowing to select the values both in chrome and Edge.

i have tried multiple solutions and in vain- is it possible that there is a conflicting plugin that has started to cause or a browser behavior that isn't allowing the selection
