After installing Jira (Server mode) , it brings on the login page and when I use my email address as user name and password, it shows error message. None of the reset options sends any emails on username of password. Unfortunately I also bought the server version and I am stranded now, anyone faced this issue before.
When you download a server evaluation version and install, it launches Jira on your browser and asks you to login. I assume that is already admin mode. Even after entering right user name and password it always says incorrect user name/password. When I use reset option , no email is sent to reset it. I bought a starter license . I was hoping to install Jira and update the license but not sure why it is not taking as admin login, so cant get into Jira and no gear shows up. Any other ways to login as admin
As you go through the install, it asks you to create an admin account - you should be able to use that to log in, then you can create more accounts.
There is no "admin mode" or "admin login" - you log in as a user who has admin rights on their accounts and get the admin options offered.

I have installed evaluation version several times and used it that way. It is only this time after installation I am not able to login using username and password. Uninstalled several times and reinstalled, same probelm. Starting to think if there are multiple instances running and installation is not properly done (although it shows sucessful installation). Trying to analyze log files.
Download and install Jira(Server option) , launch in the brower , pops us login window and throws error the user name passwords are right. I am able to log into my atlassian account but Jira software is not shown there, so can't setup anything. Also can't access account option does not work (no emails send for forgotten username/password) . Something to do with account access is my feeling.
Thanks for the input. Will try to talk to Atlassian tech supp team .May be they can resolve my account situation.

I don't quite understand why you don't log in as the admin user you have to set up when you run the install of the software. But as we are a bit stuck, going to Atlassian support is the right thing!

Finally I could get that work and like you mentioned it started asking for admin credentials. Probably some conflice with multiple instances running and also changed the location of Jira installation to get that working. Thanks for your input

You should log in as an admin. The admin account was created during the installation, try the username and password you gave that account.
