Unable to import resolution and status from old JIRA to current

We have old JIRA 4.4, trying to migrate a project issues to 8.8. Export/import xml fails for extreme version difference. Trying to import with csv. encountering problem that resolution and status have no selection for mapping (resolution and status fileds). Resulting import, issues are all unresloved/open. Similar problem with dates, created and updated fileds.

If you want to use project import from xml into an 8.8 system, it should have been generated by another 8.8 system.  A full restoration can work as an upgrade route if the versions are not hugely different (I wouldn't bother with anything with more than one major release version difference since 5 - so whilst 3.x to 5.x might work, I wouldn't try 5 -> 7, only 5->6).  Best option is to upgrade the 4.4 to something useful.

For the csv import, could you explain in more detail?  What are you seeing?  Error messages?

I found I was using a poor process. There are two import options, one of which allows status import which I needed. Bottom line: I have resolved the import.
