So when I'm trying to make the monthly report for my team for the previous month from the Jira timesheet. But I'm unable to get aa count of epics and bugs raised by the team during that time period, I'm only able to view the no. of tasks and subtasks. How do i find the count? Please help
Hi @Abhinav,
Welcome to the Atlassian Community.
I think you can get this by using some of the Jira dashboard gadgets configured with a filter that return the issues created last month:
created >= startOfMonth(-1) and created < startOfMonth()
For example, configuring the Issue statistics gadget with a filter like this and Statistic Type set to Issue Type, you will get the count in a view like this:
Similar to this, you can try also the Two Dimensional Filter Statistics gadget or the Pie Chart gadget of Jira.
Also, if you happen to have our Great Gadgets app installed, you could also use the Pivot Table & Pivot Chart gadget for more advanced month-by-month statistic in form of tables, heat-map tables showing the counts, or charts showing trends.
Danut.
Hey @Abhinav
Welcome to Community!
The native timesheet report is great for tracking logged hours, but it isn't designed to give you a simple count of all the different issue types created in a month.
If you are open to using a marketplace app, Timepiece - Time in Status for Jira is built to create exactly the kind of report you're looking for.
You can easily get a clear summary that shows the exact count of Epics, Bugs, Tasks, and any other 'issue type' your team created last month, week, or day. It gives you a simple table, just like this:
Even better, you can use our Scheduled Reports feature to automatically send this monthly report to you or your team. You just set it up once, and you'll get your report every month without any manual work.
You can check Timepiece - Time in Status for Jira out on the Atlassian Marketplace. It has 15+ different report types you may find helpful.
Hope my answer is helpful. Feel free to ask if you have any further questions.
Disclosure: I'm on the team that makes Timepiece - Time in Status for Jira.
