In jira, i am unable to edit issues. The only thing i can do is create an issue, delete an issue and change the status .
Role given is as a member.
When other users are given the same role ,they are able to edit all the fields for any issue. But not me.
I got the admin access and checked in the permission helper and for all the checks, i have green ticks.
I have been removed and re added but the problem does not solve.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance
Hi @venkat karthik KATRAGADDA ,
Can you share if what you're trying to access/edit is within a company-managed or team-managed project/space (guessing it's the latter)? When you say admin access - are we talking about Jira admin or just project admin?
Also, does this occur for all work types or is it limited to a specific one?
What first comes to mind are workflow properties that may limit edits on the item to a specific role or group. Have you checked these?
Have you been using any third-party apps? I know some, such as ScriptRunner (Behaviors) can additionally limit editability of specific fields per given criteria. 👀
Anyway, if you could share some additional details or screenshots, that would help narrow down what's going on.
Cheers,
Tobi
Hello,
It is team managed space.
I had Jira admin access and project admin access as well
I have the error if i try to edit any field of the issue , as an example if i try to update the due date field it gives me the following error
"We couldn’t update the Due date value
You can try again in a few minutes, or refresh the page.
Try editing the field again"
We do not have any roles created, we are using the default roles, member and administrator.
This issue is does not pop up to new users who are given the same "member" role.
This bug is not present last month , and nothing changed

Oh, okay. Thanks for the info!
Well, the due date is usually tied with Schedule Issues permission, but that's for company-managed projects. In team-managed, I believe it's Edit any due date (if we're talking about the system field).
As you said, you had no issues last month, and this just started occurring (not even for all members). I would recommend reaching out to Atlassian Support. From the error message, you cannot get much, and their team can probably check what's going on in the background 👀
