I’m trying to create a recurring task using the Automation (⚡ lightning icon) on an issue. I select Set to recur, configure the schedule (e.g., Daily, “When scheduled,” with an end date), and click Save.

However, upon saving, I receive the following error and the recurring task is not created:

“Something went wrong on our end”
Hash: 1FQ50YM

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Open an issue.
  2. Click the Automation (⚡) button.
  3. Select Set to recur and configure recurrence.
  4. Click Save.
  5. Error appears and recurrence is not saved.

Expected Result:
The recurring schedule saves successfully.

Actual Result:
Error appears; recurrence cannot be created.

Additional Context:
Screenshots attached showing the automation setup and the error message.

This usually points to a backend/automation service issue rather than your setup being wrong. I’d try a different browser/incognito first, then check if the rule works in Jira Automation (project/global rules) instead of issue-level recurrence. If it still fails, it’s worth raising a ticket with Atlassian support and including that hash ID.

I have seen that generic error too, sometimes when the automation rule is a bit too complex or there is something odd about the project or issue type. It is worth trying to simplify the rule to the minimum, test on a fresh issue in a sandbox project, and try another browser or an incognito window with extensions disabled. If you still get the same message with hash 1FQ50YM, it is likely on Atlassian side, so open a support ticket and include that hash plus your screenshots. Hope it clears up quickly.

The error keeps happening which is why we opened this this is the support ticket. Our steps are fairly simple we believe. Just a recurring step for a task.

Hi @Hernandez-Ramos_ Joey

This following setting seems to be working for me. Did you pick some other options?

The error Joey and team are experiencing is when we hit Save after this point. It says to "Something went wrong on our end... contact support"
