Unable to add github automation rule

Those new to the Atlassian Community have posted less than three times. Give them a warm welcome!
When I try to add an automation rule that would create a new branch in github once an issue is assigned or better still an issue is created, once I get to the level of connecting to github, the app shows an error of 'Failed to retrieve selections, please refresh the page and try again'. I tried so many times but it keeps throwing the same error. I have given full access to all my organisations and repositories when adding the github app.
If someone can help me out here. Thanks
