Hi community,
Nice to step into the community and perhaps you can help me out with quite a difference between the Team Managed and Company Managed Backlog. Couldn't find any other users, other topics or any JIRA requests/suggestions for later features about this issue.
I'd like to give you some context. Somewhere in the near future we are migrating our easy to use Team Managed Projects to Company Managed Projects, due to Portfolio and several other reasons. However, I noticed that the Backlog UX is slightly different, but unalike in usage.
The whole user experience is friendlier within the Team Managed one, you can change a status, points, assignees in your backlog, you won't have to change anything in a story. It even looks cleaner. It's hard to sell that everyday users will miss some easy to use functionalities. The Company Managed is much more static and with the added 'Card Layout', it doesn't make it cleaner.
Any ideas to use the Team Managed UX within the Company Managed ones, or is it known when these features will be added in the 'Classic' Company Managed Jira Project?
Thanks you'll, hopefully you can provide me with some insights.
Mark
Hey Mark,
Yes, that's some of the key differences - Team-managed is designed to be very easy to use but you lose a lot of functionality available through Company-managed projects.
You might explore JXL for Jira as an add-on which allows the inline editing for lists of issues.
Hi John,
Thank you so much, that's indeed a workable solution.
Beside any plugin, any ideas when the UX will be available for the the Company Managed version (roadmap wise) or is there suggestion topic in https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSWCLOUD-22316?filter=98153 which I can use.
Great and thank you.
