URL custom field

May i know it is mandatory to enter the valid url in URL custom field.

you mean the url should be valid like www.google.com, www.gmail.com? if yes then the url should start with "http://" then you can enter anything.

i tested by adding "http://google" it allowed

If you've set it to be mandatory then yes.
