Trying to Add a Column and the Add Status is greyed out.

I'm listed as the Admin, and Project Lean.  

Added a Column in my board, but This column will not show on the board without a status.  I'm trying to add the Status but the button is greyed out.

To add status to a workflow, you need

• Jira or system admin rights
• To be on Jira 7.5+ with project admin rights and a workflow that is not shared with with another project
• A Jira software "simplified workflow"

I suspect you are looking at the third, as "greyed out status" suggests that, but that your admins have not simplified the workflow to enable it for you.
