Trouble after migrating from Jira Server to Jira Cloud – missing data and app integrations

Thomas September 5, 2025

Hi,
We recently completed a migration from Jira Server to Jira Cloud. The core projects and issues are visible, but I’m running into a couple of problems:

  • Some issue data (attachments / custom fields) seems to be missing.

  • Marketplace app integrations we had on Server aren’t showing or don’t work properly in Cloud.

  • I’m on the Free plan with an Admin role.

Has anyone else run into similar issues after a server-to-cloud migration? Do I need to reconfigure apps manually in Cloud, or should they have come over automatically? Any guidance or best practices would be appreciated.

Hi @Thomas

On performing the migration there should have been provided warnings on apps used on you on-premise that that information would not be transferred or even that the app doesn't exist on Cloud.

Each app that would be eligible in Cloud you would need to review there documentation and see if they have path to migrate to Cloud.

See all of this outlined in the documentation on migrating to Cloud.

Hi @Thomas ,

are missing custom field coming from a third part apps? Most apps are not part of standard migration so you need to ask to vendor to provide you a correct path for migration on cloud (if app is available on cloud side).

Hope this helps,

Fabio
