Tree like custom field

BSU September 9, 2024

Hello everyone,

I wanted to create a custom field, with a tree view, that will help me select a service out of the service group.

As of today, there is a list with all the subtypes as follows:

  • Service subtype X1
  • Service subtype X2
  • Service subtype Y1
  • Service subtype Y2

And I want it to work as tree type choice field, where you first select the Service, and then the Service Subtype.

Service X

  • Service subtype X1
  • Service subtype X2

Service Y

  • Service subtype Y1
  • Service subtype Y2

Could you kindly guide me on how to make it work, and if this is even possible?

Hi @BSU

Welcome to community!

If you are looking for a 2 level cascading select list, it is natively supported in jira as 'Cascading select list' type.

https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/creating-dependent-cascading-lists-in-jira-1142426572.html -> While a Datacenter article the instructions should be same for Jira cloud as well.

Hope this helps!
