Hi Alex,

if you select an issue, there is a detail view on the right side.

If you click there on the "..." - Button, you and then select "More Actions" you will see the workflow transitions.

I know, it's cumbersome, but I don't know another way of doing this from the backlog.

I think this is because you should transition your issues on the board, not on the backlog.
