Hi Atlassian Community,

A customer of the company i work for has recently transitioned from Google G-Suite to Microsoft Office 365.

The same has to be done within Jira (Cloud). We found out that removing G-Suite integration can be done relatively pain-free, all users will remain, there's just no longer any relation between Jira and Google.

Now for the integration with Office 365 / Azure AD i'm a little less sure. There's enough written about integrating Jira with Azure AD, but what i can't find is how users are handled that are already present in Jira. Can these be connected/converted? Do they need new users? I'm not really sure and i can't find a definitve answer.

Can anyone here help me?

It all depends on what level of integration is intended.

If this is just SAML SSO - then as long as Azure AD sends the same email as the userid as G-Suite used to send - nothing has to be done.

If you are after User Provisioning integration via Atlassian Access SCIM API - that's a bit different. See the full document linked above and specifically the two paragraphs in italics at the end of this section
