Transferring external inactive JIRA board to current/active account

Damien Rothstein June 27, 2022

Hi Guys,

I would like to move this JIRA board:

https://covidsafe-support.service.gov.au/

It is a historical JIRA board that contains the historical information (trouble tickets) for the COVIDSafe app. All *.service.gov.au URLs are being decommissioned and we do not want to lose the historical information.

To my existing JIRA board as a new project so that it may be centrally managed here:

https://covidcare.atlassian.net/

None of the admins assigned to either account are with the company anymore, which is why I can't just go in and archive the site.

Would appreciate some advice on how to achieve the move.

Gracias,

Damien

Hi Damien,

Not sure that I completely follow you scenario, but you don't move boards, you move issues.

Also, how many issues are we talking about? Hundreds? Thousands?

It sounds like you need to walk through a migration from one instance to another. Are both instances Cloud? Or something else?

Hi John,

Thanks for your contribution.

Would it be better referenced if I said that I was trying to move a URL from one ownership org to another? So, yes, sounds like a migration from one instance to another, as you mentioned.

I'm not sure the number of tickets/issues on said board as I don't have access to it and the admins that are assigned to said board have all moved on from the organisation that owned said board.

I know that the latter URL is cloud, but I am not sure about the service.gov.au URL.
