Tracking story points from multiple developers in one story?

Viki July 19, 2019

Is there a way to track the actual story points in a ticket in the case of multiple developers working on the same ticket. What I mean by this is, in our current flow if a Developer A can need help or can not continue with his task, he re-assign his ticket to the Developer B who can help him out in this particular issue. Developer A, has already spent 2 Points on this ticket, he re-assigns the ticket to Developer B who spends 3 Points on this issue, and then Developer B re-assigns it to Developer A for him to finish this ticket. What is the best way to track those on a developer level?

Also, how do we track the worked story points in a 2 weeks sprints, if the ticket needs to be moved to the next sprint? The worked story point don't get calculated correctly?

Hello,

You can not do it out of the box. You would need to divide this story in multiple stories. Or use subtasks.

Thank you Alexey,

the issue with subtasks is that we can not release the main task until we develope all subtask.

We started adding "Story Points" tickets with the purpose of tracking those for the correct sprint for now.
