We have structured our scrum teams in a way that each one of them has their own space and board.
We need to track the progression of all Epics for all teams in one page.
How can I do this?
Hi @Marino Poletine,
I’m not aware of an easy way to achieve this directly in Jira. It may be possible using Plans, but that is a Premium feature.
Another option would be to look for a plugin (app) in the Atlassian Marketplace that provides this functionality.
If you’re open to trying a plugin, one of the most effective ways to track cross-team epics is by using the Pivot Table & Pivot Chart gadget available in our Great Gadgets app.
With this gadget, you can easily track cross-team epics by:
Sum of Story Points across child items
Percentage of completion (based on issue count or total Story Points)
This provides a clear and flexible way to monitor progress across multiple teams & epics - on a single page - your Jira dashboard.
You can view these as tables, heatmap tables, or charts of various types. Here are some examples:
Details on how to do this can be found in this article: https://community.atlassian.com/forums/App-Central-articles/How-to-display-the-progress-of-Epics-or-Initiatives-in-Jira-or/ba-p/2858840
If you need any help in configuring this gadget, feel free to contact us at support@stonikbyte.com.
Hope this helps.
Danut.
Hi @Marino Poletine ,
Please check native Project gadget. If you need something more sophisticated - you can try the Projects from the app I developed - Heat Map, Projects, Roadmap, Labels Gadgets for Jira.
Best regards,
Alexey

To track the progression of all Epics across multiple Scrum teams in one page in Jira, you have a few options.
Jira Plans (Jira Premium):
You can create a consolidated view of all your Epics across different teams. This tool allows you to track work across multiple teams and sprints, giving you a high-level view of progress. You can filter Epics by different teams and see their status, dependencies, and timelines.
Pros: Fully integrated with Jira, customizable, and offers Gantt chart-style views.
Cons: Only available in Jira Premium and is limited by teams, you can not view the progress by individuals.
Jira Dashboards:
You can create a Jira Dashboard with custom gadgets that track Epics. For instance, you can use the Filter Results gadget, where you can define a JQL query to pull all Epics from different teams and display their statuses in a table. You can also use the Epic Burndown Gadget for tracking progress based on story points or issues completed.
Pros: Free, easy to set up.
Cons: Not as visually rich or as powerful as timeline.
Jira Filters & Queries:
You can create a custom filter (using JQL) that pulls all Epics from various teams and then use that filter in various Jira reports or dashboards. This approach requires a bit more setup but is free and flexible.
Pros: Simple and customizable.
Cons: More manual setup for each team’s Epics.
Planyway for Jira, can make this process even easier and more visually appealing. Here’s how:
Unified Roadmap: Planyway gives you a visual roadmap where you can see Epics from all teams and spaces in a single place, along with their timelines and progress. It's easy to drag and drop, filter by team or status, and get an overview of how each Epic is progressing. You can also create dependencies between Epics and tasks, so if one task is delayed, you can easily see how it affects the overall timeline of the project.
Workload Management: With resource capacity management, you can see if someone’s workload exceeds their available hours. If a team member is overbooked, Planyway makes it easy to redistribute tasks to other team members, helping you balance the work across your team.

For something simpler, you can just create a stand alone board. First, create a filter to capture all the tickets or epics from all your teams that you are tracking. Apply the filter to the new board upon creation. Now you should see the state of all the epics and issues on a single board including what status their in.
Hope this helps.

That is what I am trying, but it lacks the completion percentage when working with multiple boards

No there is no percentage progress bar in Plans only on number of issues or based on status progress.
Only a single Epic has percentage progress.
