Hello,
I’m administering a Jira Cloud Free site: jimmydelaire.atlassian.net.
I am testing the official Atlassian Rovo MCP integration from Codex Desktop.
Current behavior:
The Atlassian Rovo connector is available in Codex.
A Rovo cross-product search for a Jira issue returns HTTP 403.
The returned message is: “app is not installed on this instance”.
The direct Jira API connector can access Jira correctly.
No Jira changes were made during testing.
Relevant configuration:
Rovo MCP Server is available in Atlassian Administration.
OAuth 2.1 is the intended authentication method.
No custom domain was added.
I understand that chatgpt.com is an Atlassian-supported domain allowed by default.
Could you clarify:
What “app is not installed on this instance” means for the official Atlassian Rovo MCP server?
Is there an organization, site, product, or Rovo setting required to enable cross-product Rovo search for a Jira Cloud Free site?
Why can the direct Jira API access work while the Rovo search capability returns 403?
Which read-only diagnostic or admin screen should I check next to identify the missing activation?
I can provide redacted screenshots of the Rovo MCP Server settings and the 403 result if useful.
Thank you.
