Hi,
We're using the Timeline functionality and stumbled upon a weird behavior:
Let's say we have a ticket that neither has a start date, nor a due date, nor an estimation yet (because this information can't be provided by the reporter). It's a child ticket related to an Epic.
Then we're in the timeline view and want to schedule the ticket by using the bar (this is how our developers plan their work).
This bar has a default value for the duration.
It can of course be adjusted manually, but for the sake of efficiency we wanted to set this default to 4 days.
And now the confusion starts: we did not find a way to change that default. Instead, we realized this duration is different for the same ticket and different persons. If I hover over the ticket, the bar suggests 14 days for me. For a colleague it shows 7 days for the same ticket.
We did not find any differences, we're in the same time zone setting and both admins.
So - question 1: Can we set a default for the duration?
Question 2: Why is this behaving differently?
Could you please support?
Thanks in advance!
Anne
The difference in behaviour will depend on what time view you're using. You can change this from the expand box in the bottom-right corner.
The settings are:
I don't believe you can change the defaults unfortunately - you could look for / create a feature request for this though from here: https://jira.atlassian.com/secure/Dashboard.jspa

Hi @Ste Wright ,
Ahh - that totally makes sense - thanks for the explanation!
Bummer though that the default can't be changed.
Thanks,
Anne
