I want to use timeline view. Here's what I want it to show:

  • Initiative = which we are treating like a parent/team.
  • Epic = that falls under an initiative/team
  • Release Date = which gets added to the epics
  • Components = those are actual teams.

So the timeline should show the heirarchy like:

  • Release Date
  • Initiative
  • Epic
    • And I'd add Component as a column/field as needed.

Right now, I'm not able to see any data on my timeline view even though my project is connected.

In the timeline of a project, you can only show Epic, story, subtask level issues.

If you want an extended hierarchy, you should use Plans (available with a Premium/Enterprise subscription)..

For troubleshooting, you can further refer to this documentation.
