I have added a custom field Revised Due Date field in the List. So in the timeline I want to show the bar between old due date and Revised Due Date in different color
Hi @Manju Ramachandran
I'm Ash from Appfire's Expert Services, you might want to check out Big Picture for this.
First, for Jira, you could consider using the "Timeline" feature within your project (formerly known as Roadmaps). This allows you to see issues scheduled over time based on their start and end dates. If you need to display this on a shared dashboard, you might consider using the "Roadmap" gadget, which can pull in these views for specific projects. Another helpful native tip is to ensure your date fields, like "Due Date" or any custom date fields, are properly populated so that the bars appear correctly on the timeline. While these native options are great for high-level planning, they can sometimes feel a bit limited if you need to manage complex dependencies or visualize multiple date scenarios at once.
Secondly, where BP is concerned - If you find yourself needing more robust dashboarding and timeline capabilities, BigPicture might be a great fit for your workflow. It is designed to handle sophisticated Gantt charts and timelines where you can map task bars to various date fields, such as a "Revised Due Date" or "Target End Date," giving you a much clearer picture of your schedule. One of the features that users often find helpful for dashboards is the ability to color-code these task bars based on status or specific categories, making it easy to spot risks or milestones at a glance. Based on the public documentation, BigPicture allows you to build these comprehensive views and then use dedicated gadgets to bring those timelines onto your Jira dashboards, providing a more centralized and interactive reporting experience than what is typically available out-of-the-box.
Best of luck,
Ash
Hello @Manju Ramachandran
I don´t think you can do it Natively without Jira Plans or some Marketplace App.
Best,
