We have Jira on-premise, we use a customized gadget Time tracking and billing reporting collection complete for planning, which allows us to display the remaining estimate for each developer in a clear table based on the individually defined capacity of each developer. We see the status every day whether the developer is overloaded or underplanned. These tables are used by project managers of large teams (agile and waterfall) to plan and monitor capacity for a longer period. Another alternative to this plugin is not yet available and is not even available in the cloud version. Thus, Jira will become an ordinary recording tool for us and we will have to plan in Excel tables again. Or is there a cloud option, a replacement for the TTB plugin? If not, we have to look for another tool that will allow our users to plan "normally". Thanks for your advice.

Hi @Pepik Kaaali

For Jira cloud, If you would like to try an alternate mktplace app for tracking resource workload and capacity planning across multiple projects/boards, take a look at

Capacity Planner

The app offers:

1. Resource Tracking and Allocation : The app allows you to monitor and track various resources by adding them as part of a template, and their work allocation across multiple projects / sprints.

2. Real-time Visualization: Provides intuitive charts, graphs to visualize resource utilization and capacity levels in real-time.

3. Full Sprint / Project Fix version Capacity and Monitoring

Mode details here

Hello @Pepik Kaaali! Yes, there is a Cloud alternative that should cover what you need from the TTB plugin. We created ActivityTimeline for Jira Cloud specifically for this kind of capacity planning and workload visualization.

It handles the core functionality you're looking for: you can define individual capacity for each developer, see daily workload status with color-coded indicators showing who's overloaded or underplanned.

These reports show available capacity, utilized hours, and free time per person, which you can export to Excel if needed.

The tool works with both Agile sprints and longer-term Waterfall planning, so your project managers should be able to maintain their current planning workflow without reverting to spreadsheets. It calculates workload based on Jira's Remaining Estimate field, similar to what you're used to.

It's worth evaluating to see if it meets your team's specific needs, but it's built for exactly the type of capacity planning and monitoring you're describing. Hope that helps you avoid having to switch tools entirely.

Hi @Pepik Kaaali

There several plugins available in Atlassian marketplace. I would recommend reviewing their features and try them out before you make a decision on which plugin to purchase.
