Hi all,
I would like to add a time field as an attribute to an issue. We deal with different estimates (initial estimate by by the product owner, work estimate by the developper)
It would be perfect if I could instantiate another estimated time field to an issue. I scanned the exsiting fields but I found nothing close to it. *
I'd be grateful for any help.
What would be the purpose of this new field?
You could add a new custom field for what you need, and make it visible on the relevant projects and views. Here is the information on how to do so:

Hi Bill,
Thanks for the answer.
In our process, the product owner creates an issue and makes a initial estimate of the work load (in days). We call it E1 and we track it. It is used for overall planing. When we later groom the back log, the developper makes a detailed estimate of the work load. We call it E2 and we track it too. It is used for short temr planning. Still later, we compare effective work load against E1 and E2. Both estimates are usefull.
Unfortunately, we can only track one estimate in Jira. This is why I thought of using a custom field and I went already through the link you provided. The perfect answer would be to be able to create another time duration estimate field and type duration in weeks or days or hours. I don't know how to do that.
Any idea ?

The link I sent has the steps to add new custom fields. You can add a field of Date/Time type to meet your needs, or just add a Number field if you want the value in Weeks, Days, or Hours, as you noted. I recommend reading the information before starting the steps.
At the bottom of the linked page, there is more information for how to make the field visible on whichever views you want,. such as the create/edit page.
Best regards,
Bill
